About Us

Welcome to the 2018-19 School Year!  Sunrise Elementary School offers grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the Richmond R-XVI School District an education that will help students be successful.  We are excited to be  celebrating our fourteenth year in the building and continue to be grateful for our wonderful facility. Thank you to the voters of the Richmond R-XVI District for having the vision to create an awesome building.

We will continue with our vision to enable each child's success by using high academic standards, a caring environment, development of social skills and leadership opportunities. We have partnered with many groups in the community that support our Backpack Program, Bikes for Kids Project, Character Kids, as well as the Richmond PTO for financial support in many of our building and classroom projects.  We also have partnered with the Richmond Kiwanis Club in the Dictionary Project (providing dictionaries to our third graders) and the Terrific Kids Program, giving many students the opportunity to be recognized for having traits that our community values.

All students are supported in their efforts, and many recognitions happen throughout the school year.  Our campus has modern technology incorporated in the classrooms, many teachers trained in the eMINTS Program (giving them skills in the effective use of technology and cooperative learning, project-based and group learning skills).

Please stop by and see the excitement in our school!
It is awesome to be a Spartan!
