Richmond High School is a school rich in traditions and excellence. The Richmond School District has existed since 1908, and has always proudly been a Spartan. Recently, Richmond High School was awarded a Bronze Award from U.S. News and World Report as a top-performing high school in 2018. Richmond High School has 19 dual-credit/AP courses as well as vocational education courses in Lexington and Excelsior Springs. Students have a variety of courses to take to meet their varied interests and career goals.

In addition to academic excellence, students have several extracurricular activities to choose from. Richmond offers several sports in each season for both male and female athletes. There are also multiple clubs and activities that students can be involved that benefit both the school and the community.

Richmond High School is a great school. Students learn and embrace the following core values: treat each other with respect, spread a positive message daily, be on time and accountable, and be a life-long learner. Due to these core values, our parents, students, staff, and community share a special sense of pride that only comes from being a Spartan. The high school leadership team looks forward to meeting you and working with you to help your son or daughter thrive at RHS.
