We understand that the ongoing government shutdown and furloughs are creating uncertainty and hardship for many families, especially with questions surrounding SNAP benefits and other supports. Please know that you are not alone. The Richmond R-XVI School District cares deeply about our students and families, and we are here to help however we can.
If your family’s situation has recently changed, we encourage you to complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application. Even temporary changes in income can make your child eligible, and this support can make a real difference.
We also offer a Backpack Program that provides students with food to take home on weekends. If this would be helpful for your family, please reach out to your child’s school office or counselor for more information.
If your family is experiencing hardship or needs assistance, or if you have any concerns at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re committed to supporting our students and families in every way we can.
