Due to staff and student illness, Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days will be utilized starting tomorrow, Wednesday, January 19th through Friday, January 21st. Parents/Guardians Help Needed: One of our major goals in the Richmond R-XVI School District is to foster a climate that nurtures, challenges and inspires students to come to school daily. Everyone in our school community puts forth great effort to create an environment that encourages regular attendance. We know that over the past two years during the COVID pandemic, attendance has been interrupted due to positive cases and quarantining taking place via contract tracing. Reduction in Required Quarantines: Last week, the Ray County Health Department shared with us that they will allow for new COVID-19 protocols to align with updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As we prepare to return to school tomorrow, we wanted to provide an update on new expectations for staying home when individuals in our school community test positive for COVID-19 or are exposed to a positive person.
